Unbound Ministries

Our mission is to provide churches and other community organizations with a safe environment to explore the outdoors and reconnect with nature, each other, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Every summer, my husband's parents oversee a children's camp. For over 20 years, they've spent months preparing messages, skits, worship and activities to make those kids feel loved and more connected to Jesus. Recently, they roped my husband (Josh), my brother (Elliott) and Elliott's wife (Ashley) into being involved as the cook team, although Elliott has also been known to jump into a skit or two. While I haven't had the ability to join them since I'm home with the kids, I've had an objective perspective on how transformative this process has been for all of them. I've seen every single one of them come home with their energy drained but their hearts completely filled.

After camp this year, my husband could not stop talking about everything that happened that week. There was something in him that just craved to serve in that capacity more than once a year. While we were at dinner with his parents one night, my brother (who is a realtor) sent Josh a listing for a multi-dwelling property on a large lake followed by the words: "Future campground?" Immediately, Josh clicked the link and we all looked at it together. We decided right then and there that we had to go see this place!

About a week later, we were all there together, walking the property (pictured above). While the grass was overgrown and the buildings were run down, the property was just crawling with potential. Everywhere we turned, we could envision children sitting at the dining tables, swimming in the lake, or laughing at the goofy skits in the chapel. Even beyond that, we could envision churches attending leadership retreats or women and men coming to deepen their relationship with Jesus and take what they've learned into their families and communities.

As we stood there and prayed together, we all had a sense of peace and direction that this was the property God intended for us to have, so we intended to take it. We set up an official non-profit and Unbound Ministries was born. Now all we have to do is secure the property and start renovations. That's where you come in!

You see, we're not just asking you to donate and go about your merry way. We're asking you to join us on this adventure! Once we have secured the property and begin renovations, we have every intention of documenting the process and sharing those videos with all of you. You'll get to see first-hand what your donation is going towards as you watch along each week!

What do you say? Do you want to join us and make this thing happen?
