Bloom Where You're Planted

I remember very clearly one of the first times that God ever spoke to me. It was the first time that I knew that it was God talking to me. I was about 15 or 16-years-old. I had been saved since I was about eight, but I didn't know what I was doing. At this point in my life, I was angsty and struggling to fit in. You know, all of the typical teenage things.

I'm a very visual person, and so the first time God ever spoke to me, it was through a picture in my mind. I just saw this picture of a yellow wildflower in a field of red roses. And He said to me, "You are different, but I made you that way for a reason, and one day you're going to see what that reason is. It doesn't mean you're better, it doesn't mean you're worse. It just means that this is how I created you to be, so I need you to bloom where you're planted."

If you struggle with feeling like you don't fit in, and as though you don't have a place in this world, you do. You absolutely do. You just have to bloom where you're planted and trust that God is going to show you exactly why He made you this way.
